Influential Junior Supporters

Evelyn Kenny

Mrs. Kenny was a well known and respected dog breeder, CKC judge and Alberta Director CKC. Her love for dogs went way beyond breeding and showing, but was always there to lend a helping hand to the youngsters. She and Tom Quilley were instrumental in starting the Junior Kennel Club. Tom and Mrs. Kenny drew up the first set Junior rules, the rest is history. In 1983 we bid a farewell to Mrs. Kenny. We were to longer strolling into the dog shows with a pomeranian tucked under her arm. In honor of Mrs. Kenny, the Evelyn Kenny Memorial Trophy for Best Overall Junior Handler.

Michael Patlutke

Michael was the president of the Edmonton Kennel Club and breeder of Snowghost Samoyeds. He was a very influential person in shaping Alberta Junior Handlers to what it is today. Sadly, we lost Michael in a tragic car accident in 2005.

Dugan Miller

Dugan was the ultimate lady behind the dog show scene. Never once did she enter the ring- though she was always there to groom, hold spray bottles or even fix a loose hem.

Bud Haverstock

Mr. Bud Haverstock bought his first Saint Bernard in 1960 and bred for a 25 year period. Throughout the years Bud also bred Caim Terriers, and from 1968 - 1975 his dog's consistently placed in the top three of the breed in Canada. Bud lived in Alberta and Judged in the following countries: Canada, USA, Europe, South America, Mexico, New Zealand, Phillipines, Thailand and Australia.
